Do all chickens have brown eyes?

My silkie/bantam cross has black eyes!

I had a black-eyed Australorp once.

My pretty white polish has amazing marbled yellowish eyes. that's pretty much what convinced us to buy her (as well as her sweet personality!) we even kept her after the woman sold her to us as a sick bird and we had to put her on antibiotics although we could have re-funded her.

I have only one chicken with black eyes, and I love it... all the others seem -- "nice", but hers are so extraordinary.... gorgeous. She is also an Australorp, possibly a mix, but mainly Black Australorp. She is also my best layer, and exhibits the quiet dignity of an Australorp.
I just love her black eyes, and I was wondering what breeds have black eyes.... besides some Australorps? Are there other breeds known for black eyes as a quality of the breed?

I think it's out of standard, but my SS have green eyes. Very pretty. <3



The Silkies have black peepers, which I think are adorable. It makes their eyes look ENORMOUS.
