One more question....do you think the other pullets look at all close to laying or will it be a while yet?

Not sure, but I think the marans have a few weeks to go. Their combs and wattles still look kinda small. The EE looks closer to laying, I think.

BTW, that blue wyandotte is gorgeous! Does she lay well?

Thanks! She is my favorite hen. She is a good layer but she also goes broody very easily. That's great when I am intorducing new chicks to the flock, but she went broody 4 times this past summer. I let her raise 2 clutches and removed her from the nest until she gave up the 3rd time and the 4th time.
