I didnt have any luck searching this topic. I noticed this morning that one of my 23 wk old Red Star's beak has a layer that is lifted & popped up, with what looks like strong, new beak underneah. It's only half of her top beak... mid to tip and one side of this lifted layer is still conected to the left side of her beak. There seems to be nice, hard, yellow beak material underneath. Needless to say, as friendly as she is.... she won't let me touch it!
Thanks!

I don't know , haven't noticed this in any of mine but I do know that they rub their beaks constantly on the cinder blocks in their coop. Maybe she hasn't been able to file her beak down by herself. I'm sure someone on here with more experience will chime in soon.

I noticed my white leghorn's beak has just lifted and looks like "fresh" beak underneath... She's 4 months old...?!? Should I worry about this?
