Do chickens have nightmares?? Video attached

This happened around 2 am. I’m not sure if my chicken had a nightmare or just was startled by another chicken?

They say all sentinent creatures dream. Dogs and cats most certainly do, you can watch them doing it. I can't see any reason why chickens should be exempt from dreaming if all other creatures to the best of our current knowledge dream.
If a creature dreams then it seems unlikely that all dreams are good dreams.
So, maybe your hen did have a nightmare.
But, Wyorp Rock is probably right and something startled her. Whether that something was in her head is something for you to dream about.

She seems fine and so does the other chicken who got knocked off the roost. It was just such a strange thing to see.

I didn’t even think of that.. probably the most likely reason

I saw another chicken move it’s head right about two seconds before it happened. Perhaps she was startled by that?
