I think most birds love it. I have several gated runs/yards for my birds. I can close some off to let the grass regrow. This way they always fresh green grass. When the grass stops growing I give them nice green bales of alfalfa. They eat all of the little green leaves off until there is nothing left but the stems. I rake up the stems and put the stems in my compost piles. When we harvest our greens (lettuce, spinich and other vegies) or vegies that aren't too good to sell we give that to the birds too. When we harvest lettuce we do not pull it out of the ground but cut it off and new lettuce grows on the part we leave in the ground. We harvest this for the birds. It is too bitter for us but the birds love it...
