Do chickens listen to certain people only?

Here are my newbie chicken owner observations based upon our chickens.

My daughter has three 4-H chickens (2 silkies and a Brahma) that are hers and even though she hasn’t had them they are most bonded to her. I am sure it is because she cuddles and loves on them the most. The Brahma is especially loving and snuggly with my daughter and no one else.

Our flock of laying girls are my girls. They mostly respond to my voice and calling because I feed them, I let them out for free range time and I give them treats. They do occasionally get treats from my daughter or husband and will come for them but they don’t actively seek either of them the way that they do me. If they see me they come running. I alternate their treats between garden veggies (ours love tomatoes and watermelon) and scratch grains.

Corn is technically a type of grass, it won't hurt them in the yard. I would cut out all treats until your chickens are eating their food which gives them the nutriton they need. Treats should be used sparingly.
I’ve been told, and you’re right!! (Just the look in their eyes” ! Kills me! But ok!! Chin up ! I’ll DO it!!

who feeds them?
I m the the feeder of the chickens, they react to me.
My hubby feeds the dog and cat...they react to him more.
All animals ignore the boy. I had him begin to feed them and there is more interaction from the animals.
you could have a special treat that only YOU give them. We have the boy give them grapes. He got sad that they didn't respond so well to him. I have to remind him that they are chickens and show their love differently than humans and not to take it to heart. just be consistent in your care of them. visit them just to say hi and build your relationship with them. good luck.
I am the feeder, poop picker, cage washer and etc! hahaha but they dont like my voice i guess *sobs*

Hi guys, so I have a pair of Serama chickens. I've had them a little over a month. They would go outside and play for a little while. We couldn't leave them unattended because there are too many cats around in the neighborhood .

After a few hours, we would call them in and it seems that they obey more when it's my mother's voice rather than mine.

Do chickens favour certain voice over another? Or is it just a coincidence?
i just thought of something...what time do you have them come in? chickens will naturally come in when it is dark outside. is your mom calling them later? we let ours out before dusk, and it is easy to get them back as the light fades.

We let them out around 9-10am until they're hungry/tired, usually until 2-3pm and at around 5 pm we'll let them out again. They do come back on their own before dusk.

Since they're quite small themselves, they're scaredy cats and can't stay outside for long without having us nearby .
