Do chicks sing?

My chicks cheep alot, but at night and early morning I will hear them "sing" It's so pretty.

Aww ours do too, I thought I was just hearing things but now I know I'm not

I had two singing chicks. It was such a peaceful, beautiful sound. Now one of the two singers squawks herself to sleep every night. I much preferred the singing.

I have heard mine sing and a BYC member that had bought some hatching eggs from me, calls hers her blue canaries because she says she hears them singing!

I have 8 different breeds...I think...I lost count

And my only singers are the Buff Orpingtons as far as I can tell. I just love their singing

What breeds are your singers???

Mine sing too! DH thought I was nuts when I said that. I am glad I am not the only one!

My Dellie Brahma cross chicks sing all the time - it does sound like a canary

I'd never heard any of them sing until these ones I hatched out - didn't know if they were just weird or what.

I went to a chicken rescue place years ago and they had a lot of very happy free range chickens. Once in a while, one would start up a song and then it would sweep across the enclosure until all the chickens were joining in on the song.

It was really beautiful and part of what inspired me to get chickens. Hopefully mine will be happy enough to sing too.

Well, the breeds that I know I have are Buff O's, Black Sex Links, and Barred Rock. I also think I have Jersey White Giants.
