Do ganders squat as submission?

I have two Pilgrim ganders, or so I thought! When I approach either of them they will squat and spread wings in the mating position and even flex their vents just as my hens (ducks) do.
I don't know if this is common in ganders too? Or perhaps my pure Pilgrims aren't actually pure...

Males tend to bow, stand sideways, bow, arch their neck, and sometimes squat or stamp their feet. Some ganders are more elaborate, others are subtle.

Girls tend to do the full squat that you described. You might have girls!

I raise Pilgrims and the behavior you describe - like @Goosebaby said - sounds more like typical goose behavior than gander to me. With laying season upon us, your "ganders" may surprise you with eggs in the near future. 🙂
