Hi,
We recently were given 6 hens by our parents but one of them has grown large waddles and comb that are deep red and has now begun crowing nonstop. This is leading me to believe she is a he but am not familiar with how to tell. I think the feathers are pointed around the neck and sides meaning possibly a cockerel?? Any help would be great as roosters are illegal in my county and this crowing is growing tiring. I’ve separated the chicken for now as I thought maybe it was the pecking order but it has only gotten worse as it’s been separated.
