Do I have a problem?

Well, I mention to yall, that a couple of weeks ago, or so, my Leghorns finally started laying. I have 3 Leghorns and 3 Rhode Island Reds. Bought all six at Tractor Supply the same day. I'm assuming theyre the same age, so why are just 2 of the Leghorns laying and none of the Rhode Island Reds. Any idea's folks?

Because different breeds of chicken, and different individual chickens within the breed, mature at different rates/ages.

I agree with @NatJ my Bo laid first then my barred rock. If I remember my RIR laid last out of my flock

First thing to learn about chickens is they do what they want, not what we want, lol. They are all individuals, and even the same breed will vary somewhat. We also have shortening days, so some may not even come into lay until next spring. As long as they look and act healthy, you'll just have to be thankful for the ones that are laying, and try to be patient with the rest..

Leghorns mature far earlier than RIR. Patience - they will lay in their own good time.
