Do I have a rooster or hen?

Hi
I have an almost 17 week old golden laced Wyandotte that I am trying to sex. I was sure it was a rooster when it was younger because I have a silver laced hen the same age and they were feathering differently. But now I don’t know. He doesn’t crow yet but does seem a bit more protective of the others. Here are some photos. I’m holding out hope that maybe it is a hen? No one is laying yet. Anyone know? I realize I probably need to just wait and see, or hear the crowing soon.

You probably have a pullet. But it's not easy to see detail in the thumbnail size images you selected. It would be far better to repost and select the "Full size image".

Welcome to BYC!

That is a pullet. Wyandottes redden early, and they can have weird tails, but that coloration is female-specific. Cockerels would have much messier lacing.

EDT:
I stole this off the internet, and it's a SLW, rather than a GLW, but it shows pretty well what the lacing of a young cockerel should look like.

Can't you click the thumbnails and see the images in the resulting viewer? if not what kind of devise are you using?

Yay! I have 8 7 wk old silkies that are straight run of which I’m sure some are roosters. So this will make it so much easier integrating them without an established rooster yet. Thank you.
