Do I have an Ameraucana Cockerel?

I have been dragging my feet in dealing with this little guy as he's been my favorite since we brought them home, but he's now started crowing and I can't live in denial anymore.

The breeder told me he was an Ameraucana, and his sister has the slate legs, but his have been taking on a pinkish hue over the past several weeks. Also, his coloring seems too much for a recognized one, right? He's blue splash with wheaten patches on his wings. Is this normal? Is he an Olive Egger, then?

He looks to be splash, with a lot of red leakage. The leakage is undesirable for breeding for the SOP, but can make some pretty, vibrant colored EE offspring.

Could be an OE I suppose. I had 3 OE roos at one point, they all had pea combs and pink legs (from the Marans in the mix, I guess). That bird is definitely a cockerel though. He's very handsome!

That's an Splash Ameraucana cockerel, but not a particularly good one for breeding or showing.

Thanks, everyone! That pretty much confirms what I was thinking. I'm tempted to just keep him and use a collar. Wish me luck!
