Do I need both incubator and hatcher?

I have always incubated and hatched my quail, ringnecks and golden pheasant's at the same humidity and temps with no issues. But there are some types of eggs that may be more temperamental to such settings.

100.5(+ or -) degrees and 60-75% humidity.

This link has a post to my first incubator I built. I do not detail the DIY process, but it was a simple GOTT 48 quart cooler build and holds about 320 quail eggs or about 200 pheasant eggs.
Still have it and still use it and eveb made a larger version that holds over 1300 eggs.

I found that I had a better hatch rate when bumping up the humidity a bit during the hatch. Chicks had an easier time breaking out of thier shells when the humidity was slightly higher. Also had much better hatch rates when feeding the hens with high protien feed when laying. Seems that the extra protien in the feed gave the chicks a little more energy to hatch as well.

I was feeding my pheasant hens with 18% protein with hatch rate of about 60% and many pipped but never hatched chicks. Raised the protien of thier feed to 21% during egg laying and my hatch rate went up to about 72%. Still had some that pipped and didn't hatch but think that there was some things wrong with these chicks and was the reason why they didn't hatch. I helped a few of these chicks out of thier shells and found that some had splayed legs and other problems.
The chicks would have died even without my help in the future.

You are absolutely, 100%, positively, undeniably, correct. Higher proteins will produce better hatch rates..!
