Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Depends on how old the chick are. Chicks should be at 95* the first week and you can drop it 5* a week as they get older. So depending on how old they are, you should eventually be able to turn it off during the day at first (now if they are 3-4 weeks) and then eventually during the night. You might also like to check out the BYC Learning Center, lots of good articles on all aspects of chicken keeping. https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center

Welcome to BYC!

Yes, it depends on how old they are. Kelsie has you straight on the temps...95 degrees for the first week, lowered by 5 degrees each week for 6 weeks.

Enjoy your new flock and welcome to ours!
