Good question ....got box elder bugs all over the outside of the house.

I'd think that design might work for box elder bugs if you could figure out what attracts them and put it in the bottom of the bottle. Some kind of food or maybe they like light, like stinkbugs do.

Box elders are sent directly from satan. I had a screen with a hole in it, and a bunch got into my bedroom one day. For WEEKS I would wake up in the middle of the night and feel something crawling on me.. drove me insane. I've gotten to the point I don't even open my windows in summer anymore and just installed a ceiling fan.

One thing I've noticed box elders like is light colors.. I used to have this white ford explorer along with two other cars that were black and dark green. You would see 50 times more box elders on the white ford explorer than you would the two dark cars. Just a thought.
