do male button quail crow like roosters?

If they are happy - i.e. not kept alone - they will, in my experience, only give an occasional crow, but nothing like a rooster. Much sweeter and nowhere near as noisy.

Males make two noises and the actual crow is very far removed from anything you would consider a crow. The trill is sort of a do doo do noise that can become irritating if the bird wants something as they will continually repeat it. The actual crow sounds like a frog croaking or wind blowing across an opening. Its a really raspy quiet sound.
