Do mallard ducks lay eggs everyday and can you eat the eggs?

Do you feed your ducks pellet food?

I have only one mallard hen. she is just over 4 months. I bought them as Easter present in early March 2015. which I wound up raising. as soon as they pooped my 10 year old granddaughter freaked out and ran away. on July 3rd. of 2015 my mallard hen turned 4 months old. On July, 08, 2015 she laid her first egg..she has laid one egg a day for the last 6 days. without fail. I fried the first one. I was so curious as to the taste. it was more bland than store bought chicken eggs. It was good but I decided to save them and use them in home made dinner rolls since everyone says they are great for baking. It is ok. to eat mallard eggs. the closely resemble chicken eggs in size, are slightly thicker shells and whites and tasete similar to chicken eggs. I don't know if they lay every day. this is my first mallard raised to maturity. I bought two and one flew away... this one seems attached to my 8 Pekin hens and one drake and only flies around the duck house and back down for a landing so far. I feed all 10 of my ducks the same. layer crumbles/layer pellets/cracked corn combo with brewers yeast mixed in and any greens I have left over and they love watermelon, cantaloupe, and tomatoes. I feed them twice a day. 8am and 8pm. My Pekins have not laid an egg yet. I still watch for the first one.

I feed all 10 of my ducks the same. layer crumbles/layer pellets/cracked corn combo with brewers yeast mixed in and any greens I have left over and they love watermelon, cantaloupe, and tomatoes

Our 2 mallard females have graced us with eggs every day for the last 2-3 months. The eggs started out small-ish and olive green, but they are now comparable in size to a large chicken egg and are the most lovely shade of mint green. I marvel that something so big can come out of something so small!

As for eating, I use them just as I do chicken eggs--fried, scrambled, etc.--but if we're talking pancakes, French toast, cakes, cookies, or ANYTHING baked, give me a duck egg over a chicken egg any day!

My little pet mallard Llyod laid her first egg today. I didn't know what to do, so I took it out & put in refrigerator. Was quite the shock when I fed & changed water today & saw it laying in the floor of her cage. To be clear, She's a house duck & the only duck I have. I've raised her from a duckling & love her to pieces. I just wanted to know if I should of left the egg or took it & if she has more, what do I do then? I know the eggs aren't fertile, cuz she's never been around any drake ducks @ all.

Are theses wild mallards or did you raise them?
I have a wild duck that has moved in with my rouens and she laid and egg this morning. Wondering if it's ok to eat.
The rouens have been laying for a couple of months. We eat those. But not sure about the wild eggs.
