do osprey hawks go after chickens

My fiance and I just watched a Osprey try to go after our buff opringtons with us 10 feet away from them. We are located in the suburbs of Philadelphia. I couldn't believe it. It was massive and flew away after we ran towards it screaming. A couple of minutes later we saw 8 or so crows chasing it off in the distance. If it isn't the hawks, or foxes I guess I have to add osprey to the list :/
