Do people raise quail to sell eggs for consumption?

When I first came on this forum and read that people raised quail, I thought that they were doing so so that they could release them to the wild. Talk about naive.
Also, when I was having dinner at a restaurant in Jimmy Carter's Plains, Georgia, and ordered "quail", I thought that they had been shot by the locals to be sold to the restaurant. Like I said, ..."Talk about naive."
I've sure learned a lot from this and other threads.
Does anyone on here raise them for releasing into the wild?
EDIT: Also, I have never seen a picture posted of a coop or cage where people raise them. I'd like to get a few for eggs after my having read this thread. Could I keep them in my run along with my hens (see MyPage).

you won't get many people to admit to it because of all the hoopla you need to go through to be licensed to do it.

both... sorta kinda maybe... Depends on the breed. Coturnix are exempt in most states because they are a non-native and non invasive species.

I've been selling all the eggs I have. The Asian market here sells them for 1.79 a doz these are not fresh but boiled and put into a glass jug they dip them out when they are sold. I've been selling them 2.00 doz Plus 1.00 for the plastic carton and if the give me the carton back I refund the 1.00. I know I can sell them for more but since they have paid me up front (20.00) at a time I'm not complaining and I also have solved a problem I got to buy nice egg cartons and they get recycled . At this time I have 5 familys buying from me. They have told me to just keep sending them eggs and they will keep sending the money lol. So I know have been hatching left and right to make sure I have enough birds to keep up with demand. If it drops off no problem I have quail to eat javascript:insert_text('

okay in this thread, see the coop by sandspoultry? I was thinking you put that in the inside of your coop using of course the same wood/paint so it blended in well with your coop.

I do have a cage for quail that runs along the length of the coop I would get a picture but it raining out

I put my quailies in here because of predator problems. They aren't outside anymore
