do rir's always squatt?

My girls (1 light sussex, who has been squatting for a week now and no eggs yet! And 4 rir's) they are all 26 weeks now!! My question is do rir's always squatt before they lay their first egg or can they just NOT squatt and go on to lay!!

I think you'll be graced with the first eggs very soon! My RIR's all began the squat just prior to egglaying, and they continue to this day. My games don't have this habit, even though 2 out of 3 are now laying. I don't know about other breeds since these are my first and only girls.

I have seen squats in all before they lay.. But that doesn't say much.. Only three are laying

No. Squatting isn't a prerequisite for egg laying. Squatting is an "I'm willing to mate" posture. It is a sign of sexual maturity, but not the only one.

No they do not need to squat. Perhaps they are not attracted to you.
