Do Rooster collars work?

So the question is as it says, 'Do rooster collars work to keep them quiet?'

My town doesn't allow roosters. But that's clearly because of their crowing, just like most other ordinances. Then one day I'm looking on the internet at feed and accidentally see this link to a collar you put around a roosters neck.

But I wonder if it even works? And even if it does work, the animal is moving around, so it worries me that if the collar even gets nudged a bit that it might not work right. It would only take a few times for people to notice a rooster call.

Well this isn't meant to be negative. I'm actually interested in this idea.

I'm not promoting this but thought I'd make it easier for others to see. (And if its made in China I'd have doubts also.)

Then I'd get rid of him...or risk you, and anyone else in the area, losing the option of even keeping chickens at all.

The collars can work OK, but there are risks that are sometimes fatal.
Takes a lot of fiddling and monitoring.
