Do rooster normally change their crowing pattern?

I have two roos (Elvis a silkie and Johnny Cash a cochin bantam). Elvis never crows and Johnny Cash used to only crow 4-6 times at down only.

Today he's done nothing but crow all morning for about 2 hours. When I heard the 7th crow I grabbed him up and put him in the coop since I'm not supposed to have a roo. I checked around and there were not predators and he wasn't acting strange.

Is it normal for roos to change their crowing pattern

The days are getting longer, spring is just around the corner, They just have to tell the world they are here. Mine seems to have increased his crowing too.

Hmm okay, maybe I'll just keep him in the coop longer then the girls so he doesn't annoy the neighbors.
