I did go to my local grange and buy two fake eggs. I filled them with sand and put them in the nesting boxes. Hopefully that will trigger some egg laying. Here is a pic I took of a few of the girls tonight.

tmeyers - maybe "WE" will have one in the morning. Im changing names to the girls if we dont get eggs. lol Great pics....is that the whole flock? 7 I think?

You have 11 and no eggs? I think it's odd how people say 19 20 weeks is common but I can count 8 over here that are all late......you would think one or two would at least be laying if 20 weeks was common....how are all mine late as a group. :th

I have 8 that are 20 weeks and I have 3 that are a year and a half. Out of those 3 only root beer, my RIR is laying and only every other day. The other 2 are broody off and on and they are terrible layers. Morgana is a Partridge Cochin Bantam. Cute little thing, but very opinionated. She has probably given me maybe 20 eggs in the last year! Missy is a Plymouth Rockbantam. She is a decent layer, but has stopped for now. I think she is molting.

So, needless to say, I want some eggs!! We have invested quite a bit of time and money in our chickens!
