When you say they get a "can"... how big of a can, and for how many birds? I present my "crumbles" in a feeder, avail!ble all day, every day, until the chicks are old enough to join the big girls. This means, for me, they can't look like baby birds any more but have to look more like chickens, so the cats don't go after them, about 8 weeks. They don't have broody mamas to protect them!

my birds will come inside on THEIR terms, i have found ocasionally my little banty i think she is will come sit on me if it's her bed time and we get her in a agreemable mood

sometimes I get lonely and bring a chicken in MY bedroom for company! yes in my house!
Last night it was my ameraucana.. hey, she promised me breakfast, so why not?

all of my girls and my 1 roo are adults. we have 3 babies, they DO have their momma. they're as big as the size of normal babies so they are out in the yard enjoying themselves, i will try to get pictures of every one
