Do Turkeys need a pasture?

Hello,

Our family is thinking of getting Turkeys next spring and I wanted to know if they have to have a pasture to range on? We have many acres so they will be able to free range, but we do not have any cleared grass area like a field or anything. There is plenty of greens, but no grass. Is this a problem for Turkeys? I don't believe that they need to be free ranged but I believe the turkeys prefer it. ;D They love to eat whatever greens they can find. I don't see how an area that isn't cleared would be a problem. You might have birds roosting in trees if it's heavily wooded and predators can be an issue for anyone but otherwise I don't see a problem with it.
