Welcome!! It hasn't happened to me....i have production reds, brown leghorns, light Brahmas, buff Brahmas (which they said were dark Brahmas...honest mistake), CX, rouen ducks, and pekin ducks from them and no cross breeds.

It happens, but that's usually a screw up on the breeders end. Tractor supply orders a specific breed and the breeder sends them crosses cause a roo got where he shouldn't...

TSC frequently mislabels their chicks - especially this year at my local TSC, but I doubt that they sell crossbreds with any regularity.

They sell hybrids, which are purposely bred and marketed cross-breeds. All the sex links and of course the "Cornish/Rock Cross" for meat are all crossbreeds, in that they will not breed true across generations.

Thank you for your help! I was suspecting one of my chicks was crossbredded but now I know it is a Speckled Sussex.

Yes, TSC is famous for mislabeling their chick bins. Great that you figured out the breed of your bird!

Hello and Welcome To BYC! X5, TSC is bad about mislabeled birds, but they do sell a lot of on-purpose crosses like the various sex links and production birds.
