Do yall know if tractor supply sells cross breeds? has it happened to you?

Yes I have received unusual cross breeds for TSC. I have been buying form local farmer last past year and had but better outcomes.

I find it interesting the differences between places when it comes to birds. Here it's not called a tractor supply store it's called the feed co-op, or co-op country stores. For example, here at my local store, the only options we have are Plymouth Barred Rock, Rhode Island Reds, Columbian Rock, White Leghorn, Isa Brown, Black Harco, 20 week old ready to lay pullets, turkeys, (White and Bronze Orlopps), ducks and pheasants available. Not sure why they have pheasants...they're naturally wild here and it's nothing to walk in the brush and come across a nest somewhere, that's how mine originally started...lol. But I notice many places in the USA where I have spoke to different people all have a variety of birds from crested breeds, feather legged breeds and a whole lot of other breeds. It's not fair darn it!! I have to order those types or search REALLY hard for breeders in my province somewhere...lmao..but I've also noticed many breeds people consider rare are very common here.

Ask your Feed Supply where they order and purchase their chicks. Then go to that catalog (probably on line) and see what breeds they offer. THEN if you have a choice, and want laying hens, most Coops, etc. will order what you want and let you know when they come in. You must find out when the chicks start being ordered, as the earliest ones might be TOO early for your management. I ordered 8 Speckled Sussex pullets for April delivery, last year from my Feed Store--and they have been most successful (although I let a friend take 3). Get creative......good luck.....
