I have had several different experiences.

Years ago when I was young my favorite cat disappeared. One night I fell asleep in the living room. I woke up to see my cat go running across the living room and it ran straight into the couch and through the wall. I rolled over and went back to sleep.

I was working at a resort in Wyoming. I was told there was a ghost that haunted a couple different rooms. I was sent to clean these rooms. in one room I heard the door open and someone go walking down the hall way between the rooms. i went out and there was no one there. the doors were locked and chained.
In the other room i just got done cleaning the bathroom when I "felt" someone standing behind me. Suddenly I felt someone blow in my ear. I turned around and yelled knock it off! I could always feel the ghost leave those rooms when I entered.

In our house my hubby's grandfather suffered a massive stroke, he died a couple days before my hubby's 8th birthday.
About 2 years after we got married I was in the livingroom and heard the front door open and someone come walking in and go into the bedroom. I yelled out for my hubby, no response. I got up and walked into the bedroom no one was there.
I have had pots knocked off of the kitchen table too.

Once staying out at a friends house they had a night light that was bothering me, just as I was getting up to unplug it the light suddenly went out. Found out later our friends father was murdered in that house.

After my best friend died suddenly I was up at her grave site and I was alone. I felt "someone" put their hands on my shoulders in a comforting way.

I can at times "feel" someone behind me when no one is there. Not really a cold feeling but a feeling none the less.

Yes, absolutely I believe. I have several experiences over the years but the one that really cemented it involves my daughter.

She was three at the time (now seven), she's always been very articulate for her age. Since she started talking, every time I would lay her on the changing table she would point over my shoulder and tell me "Mama there's the Man." Every time. Now, this went on for about a year and a half or so until I found out I was pregnant again. She woke up one night a little upset, so I'm sitting with her in the rocker in her room and she says "Mama, where'd the man and the little boy go?" So I ask her what man? She tells me "the man who here before you came in, oh I know, they ran up to the sky." Now this is like 3am and I'm now instantly wide awake and covered in goosebumps. The only thing I can figure is that it was my Dad's partner who died when I was sixteen and either the soul of the child I was now carrying or the baby my sister had miscarried.

Of course there was also the time when my youngest daughter, I think she was about 18 months woke up from a nap just mad as heck. I went up to get her and her room reeked of cigarette smoke (no one in our house smokes, haven't for years) it was so strong I could still smell it on her after I brought her downstairs. Don't know who that was, it may have been Pat again, he did smoke. Guess I'll have to ask him when I see him again.

Just curious, how many of you were like me and absolutely did not believe in ghosts until you had an experience?

I don't believe but as I was sitting here reading these ghost stories I heard a rattling noise behind me so I had to take a quick look just to be sure. LOL Turns out it was the damper on the wood stove. Sometimes when the wind is rough outside it will blow down the chimney and rattle the damper.

I have had things rattle that when I checked was just the wind. It always gives me a little jump though.

OH you people have me staring at the screen intently like "ghosts!!"
I like A Haunting and Ghost Whisperers... SO cheesy, but I love them...

I love Melinda (is that right) and her husband? I wish I had their relationship <3
Ughh, makes me think of Mum who believes she sees ghosts and says it could be past down from generation to generation.

I remember sitting there at night praying or well, explaining to them lol "HEY, I would prefer NOT to see you guys... like my mom does, BUT if you NEED help, please show up with all pieces and parts, don't come with bullet wounds or missing body parts or blood, because I'll cry and that's just plain rude!" LOL (because sometimes people say they see how people are when they die... I can do ghosts I think, just not scary ones... or evil ones... and especially not gory ones!!!)

So yeah.. and when Im scared I usually bark at things... dumbest part is, either I hightail outta there (rarely) OR I'm the stupid person who goes to investigate (like in the movies, those are the ones to die... which I joke about... ha ha.... ha???). lol Then I get mad, "Why'd ya have to scare me???!!"

I kind of wonder sometimes why some people dont believe?

Not that they have to, but SO many people have experiences and they cant all be "silly" or "crazy" or "on drugs". To me, those sound likean excuse for not looking at something more closely, whether it be scientific or something totally outside that realm.
Another experience here happened to my daughter. I had left to go get the mail and she was upstairs. No one else here and she heard her name being called.
I also used to take the garbage out at night and twice I heard one of my kids calling my name from around the corner of the house.
The problem with that is, both of them were fast asleep.
Maybe I am a coward but I take the garbage out during the day now!!
At our old house in Texas, similiar things happened, myself, ex husband and kids would hear someone calling our name inside the house. Mostly when one of us was there alone.

MagsC, wasn't it weird to hear someone calling your name and being home alone? I posted on here last night about our experiences with DH yelling for us, but he'd be sound asleep. The funny thing about it is that we weren't scared, we just laughed because "Charlie" was playing tricks on us.

One thing I forgot to post before. DH and I were in bed. I had just fallen asleep, so I wasn't sound asleep yet. He was watching TV. We head a little girl yell "Mommy!", which woke me up. It came from almost behind our bed, but there was a brick wall there and no rooms. We both were looking at each other because we both heard it. I went to check on my DDs, but they were both asleep. Besides, the voice I heard was not my daughters voice, you know your own children's voices.

I just wish I could find out what exactly was going on. I know there's no way to find out, but it really makes you wonder.

Ive heard my name being called by what I thought was my mother when I was younger.
I think now it was my spirit guide and not some ghost that lingered in the house.
