Yes, absolutely I believe. I have several experiences over the years but the one that really cemented it involves my daughter.
She was three at the time (now seven), she's always been very articulate for her age. Since she started talking, every time I would lay her on the changing table she would point over my shoulder and tell me "Mama there's the Man." Every time. Now, this went on for about a year and a half or so until I found out I was pregnant again. She woke up one night a little upset, so I'm sitting with her in the rocker in her room and she says "Mama, where'd the man and the little boy go?" So I ask her what man? She tells me "the man who here before you came in, oh I know, they ran up to the sky." Now this is like 3am and I'm now instantly wide awake and covered in goosebumps. The only thing I can figure is that it was my Dad's partner who died when I was sixteen and either the soul of the child I was now carrying or the baby my sister had miscarried.
Of course there was also the time when my youngest daughter, I think she was about 18 months woke up from a nap just mad as heck. I went up to get her and her room reeked of cigarette smoke (no one in our house smokes, haven't for years) it was so strong I could still smell it on her after I brought her downstairs. Don't know who that was, it may have been Pat again, he did smoke. Guess I'll have to ask him when I see him again.
