What "issues" could an egg have? Do you eat the first tomato to ripen on a plant? The first green beans to ripen? The first fruit to fall from a tree? Then why NOT eat a pullet's first egg?

Sheesh, after 20+ looooooooong weeks of feeding them, tending to their every need, cleaning up their poops, I'm all

when they lay their first egg and finally begin to earn their keep. Often I don't know it's a pullet's first egg if she's joined the main laying flock & begins adding her offerings to the collective nest boxes.

Sometimes a pullet's first egg will be streaked with blood on the OUTside, and that's how I can tell it's someone's first attempt. But I can just wash/wipe it clean and enjoy it as much as anyone else's egg.

Get that fry pan ready, start looking up egg-rich recipes!
