I live in a quiet suburban neighborhood, not in a rural area. Last year I got a few chicks for fresh eggs and as pets. This year I have 16, various breeds, ages and sizes. People are begining to look at me funny when i mention how many i have. So when does the obsession abate? Will i ever feel like, finally, i have enough chickens? Do i need to start attending Chicken Hoarders Anonymous? And what on earth do I do with all the eggs?

Simply put-NO!
Sell extra eggs, or give them to neighbors/family/friends.

Do i need to start attending Chicken Hoarders Anonymous?

Isn't that BYC?

stop counting them....

no you can never have enough...you need more....give the eggs to sweet little old ladies that make good eats!

Fred's Hens :

Sure, when you have to clean the coop, when you run out of reasonable space in the coop or run, when you have to buy feed, AGAIN, and the price has gone up..... Sure. Absolutely there are times when enough is enough.

and then you get more anyway.
