do you find yourself missing your chicks when you are away?

I always miss my chickens when I'm not here. I day dream about them and unconsciously tell everyone about them without meaning to.

We've got 3 different groups of chooks right now due to having raised 2 separate broods this spring. I look forward to them all being together and me being able to spend time with them as a group.

eww...they sleep on you? gross. I don't love ANY animal that much. But I have allergies, so that's mostly why. Lol, I draw pictures of coop plans and my chickies when I'm at school too!

Lol I dont mind it. The coop is not built yet and our stupid new neighbors feed the bears so they cant stay outside. The coop should be built next week.

I have 3 flashlights just in case I have to go out and check on them midnight. I think of them when I am at work, and can't wait to get home to check on them!

I have my 22 Polish as they're in their brooder and they constantly peep and cheep when I hold them in my hand

i went to lunch with my dad the other day and was talking about my chickens. my wife and (her)kids have never experienced chickens and they seem to really enjoy all these little guys and gals bring.

i really enjoy every aspect of raising layers and fryers. its an emotional thing.

OOOhhhh YES! When I am away from the house overnight out of town I miss them horribly. I have to imagine hearing them and being with them in the yard to calm myself enough to fall asleep. I love the way they sound, smell, and feel. Funny how animals/pets can have such an effect on us. When we went to Europe I was nearly besides myself with worry and grief over leaving my dogs. My dogs were fine, it was ME who had separation anxiety!!!

awwww!! these are wonderful stories!

I just love watching their little personalities and seeing all their little changes etc ya know? its such fun! Im glad I am here all day with them and they are right in my living area
