So glad this thread is being used! I pretty new to this, but I agree with all of the above gender guesses. What breed is it? It is a Barred Rock, right? Also, doesn't BR gender have to to with the barring? Lighter colors are males and darker ones are females, right? Although, BRs are considered sex linked, so did your chick have a spot on it's head? If so it is probably a roo, if not a pullet. I'm leaning toward roo.

I just figured that out, but the females have a smaller white spot, don't they? If not, please correct me. I only own Cochin Bantams.

5 weeks old. 2 were sold to me as Blue Cuckoo Marans (feathered legs) and one is a Blue Star. 1st photo very feathered legs second photo Star on the left, feathered legs on right.

I'm not sure. Another view. They were purchased March 12 and were a few days old. So they are over two months old. They are the sweethearts of my husband. They jump into his lap.

Posted a thread but thought I’d put in here too. 2 chicks here. Dark and light. RIR cross white leghorn + Plymouth Rock. and dark one is a RIR cross with unknown breed. 5 weeks of age so might be a bit young but if anyone can give it a shot?

My guess dark is female, light is male.
