The only person I can talk chickens with is my husband

His aunt likes them to but I don't really talk to her. All of my chicken friends are BYCers. I don't mind when people look at me funny or laugh at my chickens or the ducks that live in my front yard because they are always oohing and ahhing over them when the come to my house once they see them flap their pretty wings

I love BYC, everyone here made me feel welcome from the first day.

Yes, and Nope. Most of my friends that I've made have been on BYC, people who I can talk chicken to. Most of my friends on FB think I'm nuts because of chickens. Otherwise the only person I can talk chicken to, outside from BYC would be my father.

My wife likes her little useless Bantams but the rest are just chickens, she couldn't care less. My son on the other hand is like a little me

So I spend a lot of time off BYC talking to my son. Only problem is.... he's smarter than I am.

Anyhow, my bio had to be short... was only 160? characters....I think part of my issue is that I "look" one way, but my lifestyle is completely another. But I tried to fit my bio in those limited characters.... sums me up in one fell swoop:

"Domestic goddess, enraptured mother to 3, absolutely loving wife to 1 hubby. Eco groovy, chicken-raising gym rat likes 5 heels, Shakeology & fake eyelashes!"

There is no "look" to a chicken person , or a composting gardening rain barreling solar oven person (all that I like to do) but I like to just think that we are all diverse in our activities. I just think that my gym friends are just surprised that I have an "earthy" side to me!

hahahaa....I hear crickets ALL of the time now that I have changed my posting "ethics" lol..

I guess i'm too old fashioned or "straight n narrow" for my FB friends...

but if I post something about sex or alcohol or even how i hate this person...PPL are all over it w/comments etc..

but in the last yr I've really changed my postings (not that I REALLY posted stuff like that above..but I was pretty negative in a lot of postings..that
got a lot of responses...complaints about my husband, kids, life etc..)now that i post things like:

Taking the plunge; Letting Mici cut my hair short...errr..shorter than what it is...I do have 1 1/2 hrs to chicken out tho...


and I get a few responses; but not many..if any...

Just gotta realize I am not there to make those ppl who judge me happy; I'm there to bond w/ppl who understand and like me for who I am..
and that person is a NON-COUNTRY chicken lady, who cans, wears makeup, loves jewelry/clothing, homeschools, and gets irked at her neighbors
but loves God more than anything & doesnt kiss butt on others statuses.....and it settling back into "old time" thinking...about how precious her family is and how happy they make
me 90% of the time when I'm around them...

I'm NOT a drinking, drugging, F* word sailor who posts about how ppl make her mad like 1/2 the statuses I read on my page...

does that make me fuddy duddy? guess so...
