Other than my inlaws and kids....nope. Everyone on my FB thinks I've done lost my mind since my kids moved out.

It's a little awkward at times, but my boss has chickens. He added 6 pullets to my hatchery order last year and 2 more this year. I also have a coworker with a small flock and his family has an egg farm (300 hens) so I have a few chicken friends, but they are not a crazy as everyone here (myself included!) But at least most everyone appreciates the basics of my chicken-keeping since I associate with a large number of survivalist/self sufficiency/apocalypse wary individuals who value how farm savvy I am getting. But no, I am the only one who goes out just to sit with the chickens and gets excited over each hatch. I am always the one to notice when someone is sick or missing in the flock. I try not to obsess!

The number of FB friends I have, that I can talk chickens with, can be counted on 1 hand. And I'm sure the rest are all rolling their eyes everytime I post a pic of a new arrival, or the flock free-ranging around the yard with the cats, or the coop... yeah, they're rolling their eyes! But I do it anyway!
