Do you host Thanksgiving?

I'm hostessing for the first time this year. There will be 9 of us total. My grandmother is even flying in from AZ. I'm actually really looking forward to it.

Although, I have had 2 of the households offer to cook the turkey. They said something about not wanting to be a guinea pig for a vegetarian who has never cooked a turkey

So, I'll provide the turkey and all the fixings but my mom is going to cook it. I think it's safer that way

I'm in my mid 30's

This will be the very first year though that we will be eating turkey that I raised myself and had processed the other day

I am also making pumpkin pie from scratch (no canned stuff) and the rest of the usual turkey sides

I think this year I will only have 6 people to cook for so it should be easy

Thanks, I use what I have in the garden...lots of sage at that time of year and I put sage leaves & butter under the skin of the breasts. The turkey in the photo was the one we cooked on the Webber grill. I also cooked one in the oven. The Webber turkey won the taste test. But the oven one made the gravy.

Sometimes I host Thanksgiving, sometimes we accept an invitation to Thanksgiving at a friends or family member. This year DH's sister is driving down from Michigan and we're hosting.

This year my brother is hosting it. The first time since hes had his own place..20 or more years now.. lol..my mother and i tricked him into it this year. BUT..we have to bring most of the dishes... ooh, hes a smart one!

I am in the 20-30 range. We are hosting this year. I just told everyone that is what we are doing

My mom has Lupus and has bad days sometimes, if one of them fall on Thanksgiving..well it's happened, and it was sad and stressful for everyone. So everyone looked at me to host and I am okay with that. We hosted last year also. I cook turkey(not homegrown yet, but soon), ham, cauliflower in milk with browned butter, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes with butter and milk added in, stuffing in the bird, and stovetop for my husband

, great northern beans, white shoe peg corn, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, pecan pie, and chocolate pies. I'm probably forgetting something

There are 7 of us in our immediate family..add my sister and her fiance and kids, my parents, my brother, and my husband's parents, that's 16
