Do you kiss your chickens?

Just last night when I brought my 2 leghorns in(they live downstairs

) I had my baby roo Kernal on my lap WITH the softest blanket in the house wrapped around him so that he was nice and cozy. Also with that he was getting him ears, comb, wattles, and neck massaged, all the mean while getting lots of hugs and kisses. He stretched his head out to were his head way on my shoulder and he started cooing. It was so cute!

You are right--- I am new here. I didn't mean to ruffle any feathers (no pun intended). I guess I just don't over analyze things said on a message board.

Then why do you feel compelled to keep responding to me? [& trying to sound superior I might add]

I've been reading this thread since the beginning and I never got the impression that kelidei was "trying to sound superior" in any of her posts (toward you or anyone else). Everyone has a right to respond to any other post and express their opinions in an open forum. If there's anyone who seems disgusted with this topic, or disrespectful of alternative opinions regarding the showing of affection toward pets... I believe it is you, NYREDS.

I'm sorry, but it really seems to me like you're attacking a new member for no reason, when she's been very careful to express her opinions in polite terms. Maybe you should try to be a bit more tolerant, instead of passing judgement on those that have enough nurturing to share our hearts with both the humans and animals in our lives. Just to be clear, pets are not substitutes for human relationships; but they can certainly offer some of the joys of companionship by offering unconditional love. Besides, they are cuddly and cute, and fun to spend time with. To each his own. If the mood strikes someone, what's wrong with giving any creature a harmless little hug or kiss to show affection?!

To kiss a chicken?
OOOOooooo or Whoooo?
To hug a Pullet,
Scratch a Roo?

I say folks do
what makes 'em thrive;
some squeal in glee
some squeamish, writhe.

I myself remember words
that Frost once gave us
that may serve:

Some say the world will end in fire
some say in ice.

From what I've tasted of desire,
I side with those who favor fire.
But I would say that for desruction, ice
is also great
and would suffice.

(With apologies to Mr. Frost)

Yup I kiss my chickens....and my Macaws.....and my Boa.....very rarely do I kiss my husband though

I kiss my girls. I kiss my cats. I kiss my hubby. I just love to smooch and all the members of my little family....human, feline, avian....need to man up and live with it

They all know and put up with it....eventually I let them go and they all shake it off and walk away, giving me the eye. But too bad...I am in charge and I say KISSY TIME!!!
