Yupp! I give my chickens kisses on their heads!

My family was over for Christmas and after dinner my immobile grandfather asked to see my chickens. I didnt want to make him get up and navigate out to the coop so I went out and grabbed my favorite girl--a gorgeous little muffed grey/white mutt--and brought her inside to the dinner table. While my grandfather petted her I shared my leftovers with her to the rolling eyes of my husband and mother

Only in my house is a chicken a guest at the dinner table and not on it!!!

Perhaps it's a "guy" thing, but I don't believe I've ever felt compeled to kiss my hens. That being said I have been know to "nuzzle" with the babies from time to time while they are still in the brooder...

Now I do pick a hen now and then and carry her around for a bit, stroke their backs and scratch their necks...I get the same stress release from that as giving my dogs a pat I recon. My hens are VERY docile, and seem to enjoy the free ride for the most part...hehe.

All that aside, I don't believe I could criticize any one for kissing their chickens...it certainly isin't any worse then letting a dog lick you on the mouth....gah!

I hate when people do that...lol

"eddited for grammer"...really not my strong point!

I don't understand why you would kiss a bird? It's a bird, one that's food! Animals that might need me to chop thier heads off to end suffering are not real pets, emotanally it's not healthy! I wouldn't take my 5 year old hen into the vets at be billed $200 just to see the vet though I would for my dog. I don't name them either,I breed rats and only my snakes name them names like, yummy, treat, after dinner mint. BTW I won't let my dog lick my face cus I see the nasty things she's aten yuck!

Absolutely! At first I worried about germs etc, but I kiss cats and horses too. Doggie smells put me off a bit and lots of people let their dogs lick them on the face....yuck!

I don't kiss all my chickens, but if they are cuddling with me I do. I kissed my parakeet too when I had one. I really like the smell of feathers (clean only).

Another unapologetic chicken kisser here! The backs of their necks are so snuggly and kissable. Pretty much every time they get picked up they get kisses. They smell so good like fresh air! I don't go for their beaks, though... My rooster gave me a nice "kiss" on the lip one time!
