Do you made your chicken coop manually?

LOL My neighbor was more than willing to help because he has two lab mix dogs that have made it their life long goal to eat my chickens. I told him i was making it predator proof so i wouldn't have to shoot his dogs for killing my chickens. The dogs have tested my run to the max and still haven't gotten to them. And no i wouldn't have shot his dog but don't tell him. LOL.

Oh, she's already figured out where we'll be putting a series of coops and runs for the banties she wants now. We'll apparently be keeping breeding pairs of several varieties all seperate so as to assure that all the hatching eggs and chicks are full stock..

How get got from "we need chickens" to a full-bore breeding program I have no idea.

You sound like my wife, though.. "They're just chickens!" -- couldn't count the number of times..

I'd stand back and look, and all I'd see was whatever was out of plumb or had more than 1/4" of gap and I'd think...crap...and she'd go "Alright, it looks good! What's next? C'mon, let's go...what are we doing next?!?!!"

With her, it's MOVE MOVE MOVE, whereas with me, it's think.....think.....overthink.....plan some more......drink some more water.....criticize what I just thought up.....think some more....

Oooooooooooh, you have no idea how true that is. I get her, she gets me...hardly anybody gets us...we get hardly anybody.

Me 4!!! And I am 58!!! I spent way more than the "free" I told my husband it would cost. But, it was worth it. He still teases me that we have the most expensive eggs in town.

ETA With the first coop "we" built together in 2000, the cost was around $1500. Since then, I don't keep track of the cost. I just try to build as efficiently and inexpensively as possible. I still get what I want and feel good with knowing it's done cheaper than it would have been done if I had had "help".

I build everything, I am a Carpenters daughter and raised on a farm. You either learn how to do it or it don't get done.

Woman can do almost anything a man can do. If you can read and learn you can do it.
I can cut trees down with a chainsaw and make them fall where I want them. But I'm getting a little old for that! the body tells me so

I taught my husand how to do it. It's his job now.

Amen, Sister!!

I was one of 4 girls born to a mechanic with his own business...I am his only son.

I fixed my hubby's car when we started dating and it irked him beyond reason. Now he can appreciate a girl who can build an addition and roof...without his help. He won't touch wiring- that's my job!
