Friends... Monica, Rachael, Phoebe... 4 months old Salmon Faverolles
Three's Company... Jack (black), Janet (black), Chrissy (blue)... 4 months old Silkies

We tried with our very first birds (6) but now its just "the big birds" and "the chicks" except when we have a particularly handsome rooster(s). They are usually named by me. The family doesn't really care.

No not really, I speak chicken because I've observed their actions when they were communicating with each other and picked up on their phonetics. I talk to them like they are little humans(kids) and when I look at one of them and make a good or bad sound they know if they're doing something they shouldn't be doing, and move along rather quickly, or being praised. They ARE very perceptive like that !

Absolutely! I tend to go with those "old lady" names, and yes I'm an old lady myself. Names like Hilda, Tillie, Matilda, Eleanor, Dorothy...

Love that! My last flock was full of what I consider old lady names... Ethel, Maude, Esther, Betty, to name a few. This go round I'm going with TV show themes so their names are all over the place. lol
