That is 1 of 2 broodies caring for the same chick. My half nekkid barred cochin hatched it out and I assume it fell out of her nest and the sisters stole it. They are white leghorn/jersey giant girls.....they already coparented a trio of chicks a few months ago (along with another barred cochin hen).

Here is the baby under his daddy....

the chick hatched out of an Olive Egg.....momma is an ameracauna/BCMarans cross. Dad is the big Blue Barred Rock boy. The baby is blue barred......I noticed his head looked funny......took a closer look yesterday...looks like its whole head is dented in on one side. Like it got squashed in the egg or something. Its beak curves to the side....poor thing. Its mommas don't care they think he is the best baby ever

I can't decide if I want to name the chick DENT or Squash...lol, fail. If it is a girl she can stay here as a layer...if a boy his behavior will decide. He eats and drinks fine though.
