Do you shock your chickens?

I think either from an old BYC thread, YES, there has been a few chickens being shocked to their death. One I remember was a pet hen, got her head caught in the wire and she got into the contact, could not get herself free from the hole she had to poke her head thru, and was dead when the owner found her. Another one was a meat bird, came into contact, "flipped" himself, sudden death.

I turn mine off when I let them out in the AM & on when I lock them up at night. Mine would get shocked to much because their in & out of the coop all day laying eggs. The wire shocks their feet when entering or exiting the coop. The wire is at the entrance way about 3 inches off the ground so nothing can dig under.
