Do you spoil

I tell my chickens and ducks goodnight too!
Although I "can't" go to the extent of fruit salads and stuff, I would love too though!

Same here!
I eat meat, but I could never cull any of my chickens or ducks unless necessary.
I think as long the animal has a long enough (really it's the quality of the life that counts not the longevity) happy life where they're healthy, and the last moments are comfortable and not stressful then I don't think it's too terrible.

But I could never do it myself I personally don't want to do something like that so unless I absolutely had to, I wouldn't raise animals that are going to be culled.

I love my chickens and ducks dearly, I practically grew up with some of my oldest chickens and ducks, and my birds are really spoiled in the sense that they're absolute free loaders, the only thing they provide is entertainment and companionship for me and some of my other family members. Although I think a few months from now I'll start collecting their eggs and put them to use for the humans or dogs and cat and not just feed the eggs back to the chickens and ducks.
They also free range from like 7:00-8:00am from 8:00-9:00pm the ducks like hanging out around that time whereas the chickens are in the coop a few hours before that time.
A few years ago they used to be full time free range they had a coop but we never closed it the ducks loved being out at night but ever since a swift fox tried getting them we decided it was time to secure them at night.

I really want to rescue a horse but that will be in the future for me, I love all animals I think they're really good company and I think horses are especially fun and relaxing to be around.
I know how you feel I could never do it I have to soft a heart for that and just love to just spoil them and watch them

yes indeed I spoil them but like 3killerBs said, not with excess food treats. I have frozen dandelion greens in cube and gave them this past weekend when it was so hot and they loved picking at it.
I sing to them and say good morning/goodnight every day.
My flock comes running when I carry a tray bc its usually their evening mash. they get scraps from kitchen, mostly veg.
I have been known to bring them spider, fly, worm, and other creepy crawlers. They do not enjoy ticks but there is hope they will learn to live em :fl

If I find grubs I always bring them to my "babies" if one grabs it they will all chase that poor Chicken around. They also know to come running and pacing side the coop when I come out of the feed shed usually cuz I have a snack for them, have you tried giving them watermelon I absolutely adore it. I also say good morning and goodnight to them and I don't overly spoiled with treats I know that can be unhealthy I mostly spoil them by cuddling and holding them and making sure that when they do get treats and when i buy food it's the best of everything lol

I plan on giving them watermelon. I am growing some just for chickens; my family is not a fan.

I am beginning to think that I am the only one who spoils chickens like dogs and cats. Do you spoil you feather family if so what do you do? :frow
I spoil all my animals. We have what we call 'Chicken Time' every night where we go out and feed them treats and pet them and hold the ones who want to be held.

We started this with apples diced finely but our little chicks (now almost laying age) didn't really like the apples. So I started buying 1lb bologna and dicing it into little chunks. The birds love it. We love it. Well... I love it. My wife is kind of taken back how much I care for the chickens.

The dog and the cat even get a little.

Rabbits, not so much. But we spoil them as well.

The chickens forage our yard/ground all day long and cuts down on our purchased food. So I don't think it's too much to get them a little bologna as a thanks for the eggs AND the reduced feed cost.
