Do you spoil

Just wanted to say that if any of you have taken any of my comments in a rude of offensive way they were certainly not meant that way. All I was trying to say was asking to use the thread more as I intended. Again I am very sorry I can definitely see my posts being offensive I am definitely not trying to disrespect YOUR opinions. I seem to start alot of controversy on this forum maybe because I have such strong opinions.
Sorry and have a beautiful day!
You didn’t sound rude in the slightest if you ask me

Since this is a spoiling thread I thought I'd share my chickens favorite treat mix recipe Pecos one medium handful mealworms or black soldier fly larvae three handfuls scratch mix 1 medium handful of whole oats my girls absolutely love it they come running to the side of the couch facing the shed and Pace as soon as they see me coming out of it knowing I have their favorite treats scatter around the Run floor and you've got a recipe for happy chickens feel free to add whatever else you want into it sometimes I add grit or oyster shell or sunflower seeds

I absolutely spoil my flock. They got some watermelon this morning, I sprout wheat grass for them in the winter, and I make "chicken popsicles" aka I freeze leftover veggies and water in muffin tins, in the summer. 🤣
I will be trying that to I am getting so many good ideas from here you guys make mine seem less spoiled lol keep the ideas rolling lol 🤣

Yes ofc I spoil them. Heat lights and chicken soup in the winter, lots of chicken food and fruit salads in the summer, along with frozen treats, and they all get told goodnight every night
I tell my chickens and ducks goodnight too!
Although I "can't" go to the extent of fruit salads and stuff, I would love too though!
I am like you @Quarterhorses1 could never do that to one of my babies no matter gender, age, laying or not I love them WAY TO MUCH! Except I am not vegetarian.
Same here!
I eat meat, but I could never cull any of my chickens or ducks unless necessary.
I think as long the animal has a long enough (really it's the quality of the life that counts not the longevity) happy life where they're healthy, and the last moments are comfortable and not stressful then I don't think it's too terrible.

But I could never do it myself I personally don't want to do something like that so unless I absolutely had to, I wouldn't raise animals that are going to be culled.

I love my chickens and ducks dearly, I practically grew up with some of my oldest chickens and ducks, and my birds are really spoiled in the sense that they're absolute free loaders, the only thing they provide is entertainment and companionship for me and some of my other family members. Although I think a few months from now I'll start collecting their eggs and put them to use for the humans or dogs and cat and not just feed the eggs back to the chickens and ducks.
They also free range from like 7:00-8:00am from 8:00-9:00pm the ducks like hanging out around that time whereas the chickens are in the coop a few hours before that time.
A few years ago they used to be full time free range they had a coop but we never closed it the ducks loved being out at night but ever since a swift fox tried getting them we decided it was time to secure them at night.

I really want to rescue a horse but that will be in the future for me, I love all animals I think they're really good company and I think horses are especially fun and relaxing to be around.
