Yes, that's what people do when they debate a topic. They have reasons and they explain them.

There is nothing incongruous about my "spoiling" my chickens with loads of extra space and everything I can reasonably do to give them the opportunity to live good chicken lives in a healthy environment and then eating both the extra cockerels and the hens who have reached the end of their productive life.

They live excellent chicken lives and then, when the time comes, it's over before they even know they're in danger.
