I have a first time broody-egg-sitting hen. She's already been eating light because she's been broody so I don't want her to starve.
It's her second day sitting on her nest, I lifted her off so she could do her thing... because I'm unsure if she knows what to do so I'm showing her just for future reference.
I hope she's a good learner - because my lesson is done! I want her to do it on her own, I'm already so proud of her for flattening herself like a pancake over her eggs.
She pooped, she grazed, she dust-bathed, she ate pellets & boss (did not drink, but I've been giving her blueberries for moisture) and then she promptly got back on her eggs within 10-15 minutes.
I read they can stay on easily for 48hrs no problem.
Best of luck~!
