Do you think a rabbit/hamster water bottle would work for quail?

I got some really nice regular bird cages at a yard sale yesterday for a quarter a piece. I would have to take the whole top off to put in a mason jar waterer & wondered if I could use my old hamster or old rabbit waterer with my quail.

I think they would but they would have to get used to where it is. This is what im putting my Quail pens

Do you have to order something like that online? What parts do I need? Does it connect to a hose or what? How do you teach a quail to find water from that or from a water bottle?

they will hook up to 1/2 pvc and plumb that into a bucket just have to cap off the other end

yes hamster and rabbit waters work fine jsut put push there beak in the the end of the waterer so they know where it is .

Should I keep a regular waterer in for a few days too?

yes, they work fine. I just take out the quail waterer and within a few hours they are all using the water bottle.

You just need to show them where the water is. If you take out their normal waterer, wait an hour or so, and show a couple where the bottle is, they'll show all the rest.
