do you think aliens are real?

In the first place, earth is in the most strategic place possible to support life, for another thing it is incredible that the elements on this earth are perfectly balanced for us and other organaisms to survive and thrive.
For example, our air is actually a mixture of gases, nitrogen (78%), oxygen (21%), carbon dioxide (0.03%), and argon (0.09%). Hundreds of other gases make up the other 0.07 percent. This mixture of gases is perfect for supporting all kinds of life, for if any of the gases were in smaller or larger amounts earth would quickly become dangerous for life to be on.
This is only one of the thousands of examples that show that life on other planets other than our own is practically out of the question.

Isn't it somewhat presumptuous to asume that other organisms would necessarily have exactly the same 'life' requirements as those on earth?

I was thinking the same thing,...
Creatures "adapt" to life whereever they live... its shown time and time again..
Just look how chickens have adapted from the dinosaures they once were...
Look at the new deep sea creatures they are still finding... they adapt to no light..(most dont even have eyes because they dont need them at that depth.. etc...

Perhaps you think I'm narrowminded then? I'm not.

I agree, plenty of creatures can adapt. But certain elements have to be at the right spot for life to happen at all. Nothing can adapt on mars, show me the proof. How about Jupiter then? Storms there last months, even years. I doubt life is on other planets.

Nope, don't think that you are narrowminded at all, but those are known planets. What about the ones that we know nothing about? The universe does not end with the planets that we are aware of - they may be just the beginning.

If you stick with Evolution you have you have us, Homo neanderthalensis and Homo floresiensis among others...

Bibles view point..... My understanding anyway.... The bible never says Adam & Eve an there line were the only sentient humanoids on the planet. It only says they were the start of our line of sentient humanoids an Gods chosen people. Noah's sons wives were ether mix with or completely from a line of people not descended from Adam an Eve. Also, Goliath an the Philistines of that time were not described as being descended from Adam & Eve but of a different line of people.

What if we did destroy ourselves and are now living in that imperfect world?
I have WHAT in my yard? :

In the grand sweep of universal time I think it highly likely that life has evolved elsewhere somewhere and some when else. Its is just not likely at all that it would exist at the same time as we do. And really, intelligent? Just how intelligent do we presume ourselves to be?? What are the odds that other "intelligent" life forms have destroyed themselves as we have come so close to doing so often?

Or evolved from nothing or cosmic dust.

But how can you know that in the infinite universe there is not another environment similar to/the same as earth?

Ever since the discovery of DNA scientists have been rethinking the evolution theory and have discovered at the DNA level what was once thought to be related through evolution were never related at all. Wooly mammoth for example is its own creature and not completely genetically related to the modern elephant as once thought.
