Do you think it's rude....

Ditto. The only exception in my mind would be a delivery person who was only going to be there for a minute, and even then only IF there were no other closeish places (especially if they have to carry things in). This sort of thing would not happen at WalMart though, perhaps a smaller store or an apartment complex.

I also get annoyed about using other people's tags. I personally know that my husband's cousin parks in the handicapped place when driving her mom's car. Said cousin is in NO way handicapped.

I wish I had a dollar for everyone of THESE .........BAD PEOPLE I've had to wait on to park!!

You don't own a placard or permanent plate KEEP OUT!!
Its NOT okay, even for a second!

This is when I'd tell the woman she could turn her butt around and move it or find somewhere else to get her fat snacks ....Though I know realistically its not a good option for you guys owning a small store - you probably need the business unless someone is really disrespectful but still the feeling is there I bet

LOL! I laugh because I own a small store (horse tack) we don't have a parking problem as of yet. But DH is the kind who would tell a customer to go take a flying leap and never come back. I keep trying to tell him that he can't run off the customers even if they are ridiculous and annoying since we NEED them to keep the lights on!LOL!

On a side note - my father was one of those who had a temporary HC sign. He didn't look like there was anything wrong with him, but he had severe leg pains and could not walk for great lengths. I would always get mad at the people who would use the motorized carts and not need them OR not charge them. He had to have one to be able to shop. Later in his life he simply couldn't stand for long periods of time.

So for those of you out there who allow your little darling children to run loose inthe store wearing down the batteries of the motorized cart CUT IT OUT AND PUT YOUR LITTLE MONSTERS ON A LEASH. WAL MART IS NOT !!!!NOT!!!!!! A PLAYGROUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, I feel better now.

SO get a gun if you're that worried about your safety. And stay OUT of my parking space!

Not all places will allow a weapon onto their parking lot much less inside the store.

Iffin I were you, I would place a sign right at the front door that says, "We have the right to refuse service to anyone." The next time someone parks in the HC place, ask them ONCE nicely to move. If they choose not to, then you should choose not to serve them.

If they don't read the HC signs in the first place, do you think they'll read those? I have that sign IN my store by the register. I also have on the outside NO PHONE - NO AIR - NO CAR TRASH as those are the things most asked for. But they still ask, multiple times, daily.

And as I said previously, they are the ones that pay the bills and if I don't take their money NOW while it's summer, winter will be REAL tough.

I think it's rude if your just being lazy and don't want to walk but if someone is feeling very sick I feel it's fine even without a Hc tag. I don't have a hc card but I've had to park in the hc on occasion. Last week was the first time in over a year I had to do it. I was cleaning my truck and got overheated and my MS flared up. I could hardly walk, my arms barely worked and my sight starting to go double. My cooling agent needs to be replaced on my truck and I needed to cool off. I barley could drive but I managed to drive a few blocks to get to Wal-Mart. I parked in the hc and slowly made my way inside to sit down on a bench in the AC. I think if someone would have yelled at me for parking there I would have told them off and never shopped there again (actually i couldn't have since I didn't have the strength to even talk at that time)...sure I wasn't legal to park there but I might have ended up in the hospital if I had to walk much farther. I think I will go ahead and get my hc card from my neurologist on my next visit.

Yea, I was going to say, it sounds like you should have one. I hope you get your truck's ac fixed soon!

I think what bothers me more that people who park in the Handicapped zones are the family members of the handicapped patron who are just using the car and because they have the blue handicapped tap or plate they think they can park in a handicapped space. I see teenagers parked in these spaces who are out driving mom or dads car, or borrowed the tag and placed it on their windshield just so that they can park in handicapped zones at the theate so they can be first in and first out. That ticks me off.

Im getting it fixed in a few days. I kinda don't want a hc tag, I'm 31 and it will make me feel well...you know old and crippled. I also don't want people to stare at me wondering "why did they give that lady a hc tag she doesn't look like she needs one".

I currently have a temporary placard - for me it was fairly easy to get it - it all depends on your doctor. Mine didn't want me on anything but crutches and I work at an extremely large building (population 3000 in the building - more than the entire town I grew up in), and believe me, the parking lots are unreal. I used my placard there. If I went to the local grocery, I would park in any ol' spot, as the hike wasn't too bad. Once my initial injury healed enough I could walk semi-normal, I stopped using the placard, but kept it for bad days.

Now that I'm hop-along-cassidy again, I'll use my placard (it's not expired for a while, they did the max time for a temporary, with instruction to come back for a new one if I needed it) when it's more than 50yards to the building.

I did get a ticket once, the second day I had it, because my mirror fell off my windshield, taking my placard with it

. Very easy to "fight", so not a biggie. I was a little irritated with the handicap patrol though.

Some of my extended family get after me to use it for every little thing, and I refuse. My pain is tolerable, my main issue is I'm turtle-slow right now, and need aids to walk. There are others who need to be closer than I in most cases, so I just park a bit farther back and turtle-slow my way in.

If you need one, go to the doc and tell him to write even a temporary for you. If you don't need it, park where you should. If the parking isn't adequate, speak to the store owner.

ETA : Show Me Chick.....I'm younger than you

I had my first temporary placard when I was 19

Hoping these surgeries will fix me up so I don't need them until I'm "old".
