Do you wear special footwear in your run?

Definitely something rubber to wear out to the run. I have a pair of these clogs:

Ordered them from: http://www.gardeners.com/Classic-Garden-Clogs/ClogsShoesBoots_Cat,11922,default,cp.html

And
I LOVE LOVE LOVE them! They have this thick cork base so they are not flimsy and you can walk in them, garden in them and hose them off easily.

Then get a boot brush or some kind of door mat that has thick bristles to get all the muck out. I leave it right outside the gate to the run. And then slip out of my clogs at the back door.

Hmm I like those but $45 would add up quick-I'd have to buy at least 4 pair. Maybe I'll look for some that aren't as high-we'd only use them in the actual run anyway. We'd change into them outside the run door.

Do you have a Tractor Supply? I have wide feet plus I like my farm boots to fit loosely so I can just drop my feet into them w/out having to tug them up. I get men's rubber farm boots at TSC--$15 or so, they last a long time (even with the amount of abuse mine get--traipsing through the creek several times a day hauling hay, etc).

I don't have one close but we'll be going near one tomorrow. I'll check. I called the Sloggers company and they said some Ace and True Value stores carry theirs so I'll check those too. I bought dd a pair at Walmart and we cut them down about just above ankle length. It's hard for the kids to go in and squat down to chicken level in tall boots. But right now Walmart has very few sizes available.

I have some slip on Sketchers that stay outside and have a flat bottom and virtually no treads. Like skateboard shoes. That way poop is easy to scrape off the bottom. I absolutely hate trying to get poop out of sneaker treads.

I let the chickens out before work after I've gotten ready in the morning and lately I've had to water/feed the chicks (dang, they drink a lot!) and wound up going in the coop with my work shoes on. I try to wipe them in the grass and on the porch on the way in then lysol them with some spray I keep by the back door. Is that dumb??
