Do your chickens ever get really really mad at you?

i'll never forget the day that i got my first 5 chicks (all 1 week old). I had a pet carrier in the passanger seat of my car. They were being very quiet and just looking around. However, every time i hit a bump in the road, they all started peeping loudly in complaint (all in unison)

! It was possibly one of the funniest things i've ever seen/heard in my life!

Ever see a bunch of chickens do the maypole dance? Mine did yesterday. I hung up a cabbage in an onion bag, just at eye-height. They had never seen a cabbage before. They all ran to the walls and just stood there staring at that thing and yelling at me. So I sprinkled some layer crumbles on and under the cabbage. FUNNY stuff! The all ran up in a circle, ducked their heads and swung their bodies out...running around and around that cabbage, trying to fetch the crumbles without touching the cabbage! I took the cabbage down and started eating chunks of it and tossing bits to them. That was OK in their book, they tried the chunks after they saw me eating it too. So I set the cabbage down on the floor. NOTHING doing, they all ran to the walls and yelled at me! I just gave up and left. A couple hours later, when I came back, the cabbage had vanished. Go figure!

You hen will thank you if you DO rub their back and then give them a light pat on the butt. They will immediately stand up and fluff out all their feathers, content that their favorite rooster made them feel so special.

The only reason I know this is because my very first hen did that this week!! She's also turned very red so I know eggs are on the way!

And yes, my hens really let me know when they are left stuck in their coop/run and I'm on the outside - where they want to be! Gosh do I get an earfull! And their voices escalate the longer they go without being let out. Manipulative hens.
